JOSE MIGUEL AZORIN MARCO

Jose Miguel took up his music studies at Superior Music Conservatory of Murcia with professor D. José Miguel Rodilla Tortajada, finishing them in 1992 with the End of a Career Award.

Later on he extended his studies on clarinet with such illustrious clarinetists as Vicente Peñarrocha, Walter Boeykens, Anthony Pay, Sabine Meyer, Yehuda Gilad, etc.

In parallel he made Orchestra Conducting courses Jan Cober, José Mª Cervera Collado and Manuel Hernández Silva.

In 1998 Jose Miguel was granted with an Autonomous Community of Murcia’s scholarship, through Séneca Institution, and therefore he entered the prestigious academy L’école Normale de Musique “Alfred Cortot” at Paris, where he perfected during the next three years his music studies under the tutelage of illustrous clarinettist and professor Guy Deplus, and where he was granted in 2000 with the Diplome Supérieur d’Exécution, #1 of his grade, and unanimously of the jury and the Diplome Supérieur of Chamber Music.

He has been a member of the Regional Youth Orchestra, Superior Music Conservatory Orchestra and Region de Murcia’s Symphonic Orchestra, performing under the baton of directors such as Jose Miguel Rodilla, Manuel Hernández Silva, Leo Brower, Enrique García Asensio, José Mª Cervera Collado, etc. and artists of the likes of Monserrat Caballé, Ainoha Arteta, Ana Mª Sánchez, etc.

In 2002, he passed the public exams for the Community of Murcia professorate. He has since been a professor at conservatories of Cartagena and Lorca, and nowadays he practices his profession at Music Conservatory of Murcia. Focused on his instrument’s pedagogics, he has edited four books titled “Introduction to Clarinet”, for starting students who are starting to take their first steps with the clarinet.
